The Fire.....

On March 22, 2011 our church home was destroyed in a fire.  My wife and I were at the local high school attending a meeting when we were told that the building was burning.  My initial thought, since we had only been gone for a little over an hour, was to get a fire extinguisher and put it out.  However, we rushed home and the following pictures show what we were greeted with when we arrived.

It was devastating for our church family, but we have realized in the months since that it is not the building that makes the church, it is the people who are part of that church.  We have carried on over the last several months, meeting in the abandoned high school wing of Weymouth Consolidated School.  The place is far from perfect, but it suits our needs while we continue to build.

We believe we are in God's perfect will for our church as we continue with this process.  It has not been easy to get to this point and there have been many stress filled days as we have looked at plans, talked about money and finally got the construction crew on site and rolling.  There are still many stress filled days ahead as we press on towards the completion of our project, but we continue to praise God for all He is doing for us.

Please pray with us as we continue to press on for Him.  It is our desire to get this new building up and running real soon, not simply so we have a beautiful new home, but so we can have a new tool to use for the advancement of His Kingdom in this world!
