A Much Needed Update

Well here it is almost a month since the last time I posted an update on where we are at on this road to rebuilding and I have been reminded that it is well past time to bring our readers up to date on the process.  Since the last update, we have submitted our land to the district board for their approval, which was unanimously granted, and have set in motion the process of transferring the parcel of land at 5515 Route 340 into the name of Havelock Wesleyan Church with the intention of erecting a new building there in the near future.

The building committee and church board have met a couple times since our church meeting with the intent of setting some sort of budget that we could take to the church and putting together some ideas for a floor plan that will match that budget.  This has been accomplished to some degree and we are planning another meeting for Monday, June 20, to further consider where we are and what we feel we can afford.

It is our hope that we will have enough information pulled together after this meeting that we will be ready to make a presentation to the church on Tuesday, June 28th.  This will include a plan for raising funds as well as a proximity of a floor plan for the new building.  All of those who call Havelock Wesleyan Church home are invited to attend this meeting, regardless of whether or not you are a member.

Again, we are asking you to pray for direction in this whole matter.  God is great and He can provide, and we want to be sure we are following His direction as we proceed with our plans.  We need wisdom as we strive to be financially responsible while at the same time not putting God in a box.  We also need direction as we put plans for the building on paper.  There are a great number of details that we don't even think of until we begin to put a drawing together and it is the intent of our committee to put together a building that is pleasing and functional for all ministries of the church. Pray that in all of these things we will rely completely on our Master and make pleasing Him our ultimate goal and desire!
