Wow! It has been an exciting week! We finally have some great news to report.... The Building Has Begun!!! Many hours of planning has finally found its reward in the start of construction. Last week, the excavators were brought back in to take the basement down to grade and since that time, the hole has been dug, footings have been poured and the forms for the walls are being set in place. I am going to include some pictures of the progress with this post so you can see what is happening. Please be watching for more as the building continues to go up!
We still have a long way to go with our finances and some further planning decisions to be made, but a lot of that stuff can take place while the project is on going. Please be praying for God's direction with all this so that we can press on and hopefully be in our building by early spring.
One big prayer request we have is the finances. We are praying that God would provide in such a way that we could move into this building debt free. So far, He is honoring that prayer in some amazing ways. The property we are building on cost us nothing except the survey and legal costs. The land work has been donated thus far. And we currently have about half the money needed to complete the building on hand. But we do have a need for more. Please continue to pray with us for God's provision!
I included our mailing address before for any who would like to donate and am going to do that again. Perhaps God is laying Havelock Wesleyan Church on your heart right now. Why not take a moment to send your donation to: Havelock Wesleyan Church, 4479 Route 340, Weymouth, NS, B0W 3T0.
Thanks for your prayers and financial support as we press on for the Kingdom!
This will be the continuing story of Havelock Wesleyan Church as we embark on the journey of rebuilding after fire destroyed our church home on Tuesday, March 22, 2011.

What's Happening????
Hello to all those out there who are following our blog. I have heard that some of you are maybe a little disappointed and concerned that there have not been any more recent posts, so to let you know that we are still alive, I will give you a little update and hope that will encourage you to keep watching for more!
The land work at our site has been pretty much completed and all the heavy equipment sent home for now. The basement hole is dug, the ground is levelled and a sign announcing that this to be the site of Havelock Wesleyan has been erected. What we are waiting for now are completed building plans which are well under way. The final draft of these plans should be done within the next few days and then the wheels will start turning again. In fact, we are hoping to have construction under way in short order, but we do need a couple of details to fall into place quickly for that to happen.
So you know how to pray for us... We need to get the plans finalized, have the district give us their nod of approval, procure a building permit and make sure that all of the legal work is in order before construction can begin. Delmar Construction has been retained as our general contractor and they are working closely with us to make all this happen. And they are as anxious as we are to get at it. Not much fun doing outside construction work in the freezing cold!!!
One thing that you can keep in mind is that we will be looking for volunteers to help out with this project once we get under way. If you can help, please contact either myself or Earl Prime so we can help determine when your help would be most beneficial to us. If you are not able to help, but are able to give, we still have a great financial need. It would be tremendous to be able to finish this building debt free and you can be a part of that. Simply send your check to Havelock Wesleyan Church, 4473 Rt. 340, Weymouth, NS, B0W 3T0. Receipts will be issued.
Thanks again to those who are praying for us and watching anxiously to see what is coming next. We will keep you posted!!
